LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

For 18-25 year olds

This unique programme empowers young adults to get involved in community projects. The six month programme focuses on personal as well as professional development. Through a range of talks, workshops and 1-2-1 support you will graduate with all the skills required to lead a project either in the community or work environment.

  • Developing skill sets which can be  applied in jobs/careers helping to progress into leadership/management roles 

  • To feel valued and inspired to get involved in the community and instil collaborative working 

  • To bring awareness to one’s leadership mindset and be able to work with people of diverse personalities, understanding different perspectives  

  • Encourage 'thinking outside the box'. Adopting open, positive approaches for challenging and conflicting situations.

Course Modules

Getting to know yourself and your community

In this unit self awareness and personal values will be explored. We will also understand community values and the importance of getting involved and making our contribution

Setting your vision and mapping your plan

Forward planning and setting your personal and project goals will be the focus of this unit.  Having a vision and building a strategy.

leadership styles and delegation

We will analyse different leadership styles and identify what type of leader you are. Alongside this we will also look in to group and team dynamics and how to lead an effective team.

communication

Presentation skills and how to communicate effectively with different audiences

making decisions and dealing with conflict

In this unit we will explore conflict resolution. How to manage  and diffuse difficult situations. We will also  examine problem solving techniques.

06

making your mark

Measuring impact and looking at different methods of obtaining feedback. Analysing and evaluating our progress.
